You don't have to buy songs to use Rhapsody, and you don't need to be satisfied with 30 second samples. The idea behind the Rhapsody service is that you don't ever have to buy anything, but your listening possibilities are nearly endless.
Rhapsody is a little like having cable television. You pay a monthly fee to have reliable access to a variety of entertainment. The difference is that with Rhapsody you control the content and the timing - even better, you can have basic service without paying anything. You can access a vast amount of music wherever you can access the internet, on your own schedule.
If you have the appropriate membership and a compatible portable device, you don't even need the internet - download the tracks you want and you can listen anywhere. Rhapsody lets you listen to anything from the latest pop album to Tuvan throatsingers on a whim - no budgeting, no waiting, and no trips to the store.
Of course, if you want to, you can buy as many tracks or albums as you like. The important thing is that you don't have to buy a song to hear it over and over again, whenever you feel like it, wherever you feel like it.
With a Rhapsody-Free membership, you can use the following Rhapsody features and areas:
