Playlist Central  

Playlist Central is an online community; a place to find new music and share the music you love. Listen to, rate, and share playlists published by other Rhapsody users, by celebrities and musicians, or by the Rhapsody editors.

You can publish your own playlists from Now Playing, a Playlist view of the Display area, or publish music directly from My Library.

To visit Playlist Central, click the Playlist Central tab  at the top of the Music Guide pages.

What can I do with a playlist in Playlist Central?

Use the following controls and options with  playlists in Playlist Central.

Control

 

What does it do?

Play: Click   to add the playlist to Now Playing and begin playback.

Add: Click to add the playlist to your collection the Playlists area (below the Sources area.
 

Click  next to an individual track in the playlist to add it to My Library.
 

Note: You must have the appropriate  subscription to add playlists and tracks from Playlist Central.

The tracks from playlists are not automatically added to My Library or downloaded to your hard drive as downloaded Rhapsody tracks, even if you have Download songs to my hard drive... selected in the General preferences.
 

To add the tracks from a playlist to My Library, drag the playlist from the Playilsts area to My Library in the Sources area. If Download tracks to my hard drive... is selected in the General preferences, the tracks will automatically download (if they are available).

Rate: When viewing a playlist, click any number in the Rating Selector (below the playlist art) to rate the playlist from 1-5.  "1" indicates a less-favored playlist, and "5" indicates a more favored playlist.

Your rating will appear next to the playlist name whenever you open that playlist, and it will contribute to the playlist's overall ranking in Playlist Central.

You can change your rating, but you must first leave the open playlist view and then return to it.

Note:
Your rating in Playlist Central does not affect your ratings in the rest of Rhapsody, and does not affect your recommendations in My Rhapsody.

Click Share Playlist to email a link to tthe playlist, or create a RhapLink (link to Rhapsody music, generated by the Share process; a RhapLink can be e-mailed, blogged, posted to a web site, or shared via instant messaging program) to the playlist to post on your web site,  blog (web log; online diary or log kept on a web site), or an instant messaging program.

Author

Click the playlist's author alias to view all the playlists published by that author.

What is the Dynamic Playlists page, and how do I use it?

Dynamic Playlists are playlists that Rhapsody updates with fresh content each time you sign in to your Rhapsody account. From the Playlist Central Home page, click Go To Dynamic Playlists to visit the Dynamic Playlists page.

 

 

Tell me about individual playlist views in Playlist Central.

Click the name of any playlist in any Playlist Central view  to display the contents of that playlist.

A playlist page in Playlist Central displays each track in that playlist, along with any individual track comments.

How do I sort playlists in Playlist Central?

Note: Some playlist categories with few entries may not show the link or the Sort By options.
