With Rhapsody and some blank discs (CD-R or CD-RW), you can create custom audio CDs that can be played on standard CD players.

Because most of the music in the Music Guide can be purchased and burned, you have a huge variety of tracks to choose from. You can create your own CDs to fit the theme of any party or special occasion. Play them anywhere - your home stereo, your computer, your car.

You can Import tracks from your favorite commercial CDs, remix them into playlists, and burn them. Did you ever buy a CD that had just one really great track on it? With Rhapsody and some creative mixing, every CD you make can be a top 20 (or so) of your all-time favorite songs - an average CD-R will hold 80 minutes of music.

The Burn view of the Mixer

  • Drag and drop tracks from My Library to Burn in the Mixer.

  • Drag tracks from Play or Transfer to the Burn tab.

  • Drag and drop tracks in the Burn view to rearrange them prior to burning your CD.

  • You can burn any playlist containing purchased tracks up to seven (7) times.

  • You will be prompted to purchase any subscription tracks you have not yet paid for when you begin the burn process.

  • The track type icon will appear next to the track name in the Burn view, so you will know in advance if a track needs to be purchased before burning. (Tracks Imported from CD and tracks imported from your hard drives have no icon, but they can be burned, as they are local files on your computer.)

  • Your CD will be automatically ejected when the burn has finished.

What Kind of Music can you Burn to CD?

  • Tracks that you have purchased from Rhapsody's Music Guide ( ).

  • Rhapsody subscription tracks ( , ), if you choose to purchase them. (You can add streamed   and downloaded    subscription tracks to the Burn list. When you start your burn, you will be prompted to purchase the tracks if they are available.)

  • Tracks that you have Imported from CDs.

  • Local tracks that you have imported from your hard drive(s) to My Library.

  • Entire playlists, if all the tracks in the playlist are local and/or available for purchase.

Note: Rhapsody burns CDs in CD Digital Audio (.cda) format. This is the format used in music CDs from local retailers.

What Kind of Tracks are Unavailable for Burning?

  • Media that is only streamed to your computer, such as Rhapsody Radio and other internet radio.

  • A few Rhapsody tracks are only available as streams, and are labelled Stream Only in the Music Guide. If a track is not available for purchase, you will receive a message to that effect when you start your burn.
