Display Area: Music Guide view

The Display Area (indicated in red) presents different views depending on your selection in the Source List or Music Guide. (For example, if you select My Library in the Source List, the contents of My Library will appear. If you select My Rhapsody in the Music Guide, your personalized My Rhapsody page will appear.)

Each view has some unique controls related to its use. Other controls, such as those used in column resizing, are common to all views.

Finding and Viewing Music in the Display Area

In conjunction with the Source List and Mixer, the Display Area helps you manage and search your music collection, CDs, and portable devices.

View		Uses
Music Guide		The Rhapsody Music Guide was created to help you discover, listen to, and purchase music. My Rhapsody and Playlist Central are also accessed through the Music Guide view. Rhapsody Radio is available by clicking in the Source List or from various areas in the Music Guide.
My Library		Displays filtered and unfiltered views of My Library. Also used to search My Library, play tracks, and to display Track Info.
Download Manager		Displays the progress of current downloads of music you have purchased from Rhapsody ( ), as well as subscription tracks you have downloaded to My Library ( ), for the current session of Rhapsody. The Download Manager does not show subscription tracks that you add to My Library as streams ( ), unless you attempt to download a track that is only available for streaming, in which case it will display the streamed track along with the message "Not Available for D/L". (See Track Types for more information on streamed and downloaded tracks.) To automatically download subscription tracks when you add them to My Library, see My Library Preferences.
CD(s)		Displays the contents of the selected CD. Also lets you play, Import (rip), and burn your music.
Portable Device(s)		Displays the contents of the selected portable player or device. Use this view to transfer music and manage your device. Note: You cannot play music from the Portable Device view of the Display Area.
Playlists		Displays the contents of a playlist so that you can play or edit it.

Customizing Columns in the Display Area

Each column header displays an associated track property (such as Name, Artist, or Album). You can customize the columns to suit your preferences.

Action		Directions
Sort		Click on the column header to sort tracks by that property. Click again to reverse the order of the items in the list.
Resize		Drag the right bar in the column header to the desired width.
Reorder		Drag the column header into the desired display location.
