Music Guide

The Music Guide is your portal to all of Rhapsody's music services.

Search for and play on-demand music streams; purchase and download tracks and albums; explore the Playlist Central online community, and get personalized music and artist suggestions in My Rhapsody. You can even have Rhapsody create Instant Playlists for you.

  • To open the Music Guide, select Music Guide ( ) in the Source List.

  • Click to return to the Music Guide home page from any other Music Guide area.

  • Access your personal My Rhapsody page   from the Music Guide.

  • Access the Playlist Central online community from the Music Guide.

Browse

The Music Guide home page displays a variety of music selections, including top tracks and artists, a complete list of music genres, and a Features list. Click any of the links to browse through the Music Guide. Click any artist name for a detailed artist information page. Click any album name to display that album in detail, along with a list of other available albums by that artist.

To help you quickly navigate and control playback in the Rhapsody Service, use the following controls.

Returns to previous Music Guide page.

Opens the Music Guide home page.

Search

Use the Search function in the Music Guide to search through Rhapsody's online database. Look for information about artists and composers, the music and albums they produced, and which tracks or albums are available for purchase and on-demand playback. (See Searching the Music Guide for more information.)

Play or Add Tracks

When you find tracks that you want to play or add to My Library, use the following controls.

Action

Starts playback of any available track or albums. Use the Rhapsody Controls to pause, resume, or stop playback. (See Playing Tracks for details.)

If you have
Clicking the Play button: Adds song to Mixer selected in your General Preferences, the songs will be queued without beginning immediate playback. (Default is Clicking the Play button: Plays song immediately.)
You can also press and hold
[CTRL] on your keyboard and click to add the track to the bottom of the Play queue without starting immediate playback.

Starts track preview. (Displayed if you don't have a music subscription, you aren't signed in, or if that track is only available for purchase and cannot be streamed.)

Adds a track or album to My Library or a playlist to My Playlists in the Source List.

Note:
You must have the appropriate subscription to add tracks to My Library from the Music Guide.

Opens the "Purchase" dialog. Purchased tracks are downloaded to your computer and added to your Library. (You can use this control to purchase tracks even if you don't have a music subscription or you aren't signed in.)

Features Block

The Features block, located on the Music Guide home page, links to a variety of special interest pages such as New Releases and Staff Picks.

Other Music Guide Home Page Features

The Music Guide home page also offers Albums for You, which are recommendations based on your recent listening history, artist samplers, Instant Playlist (also available in My Rhapsody), Radio Spotlight, and Rhapsody's Top Artists. The content of the Music Guide home page changes frequently, so check back often for new music.

Note: Not all services and features are available in all countries. Services and features will be added as they become available.
