You can use the Mixer to play tracks, create a playlist, burn music to a CD, or transfer tracks to a portable player or device. Simply click the Play, Burn, or Transfer tabs at the top of the Mixer to change the Mixer view.

Add Tracks to the Mixer

You can add tracks to the Mixer in several different ways:

Drag and drop tracks from My Library to any view of the Mixer.
Drag and drop compatible music file s from a folder on your hard drive to any view of the Mixer.
Drag and drop playlists from the Source List to any view of the Mixer. You can also drag and drop tracks from any playlist viewed in the Display Area.
Add tracks to the Play view of the Mixer from the Music Guide by clicking next to any track or album.
Copy selected tracks from one view of the Mixer to another view by dragging the tracks to a Mixer tab. (For example, select tracks in the Play view, then drag them to the Transfer tab. When you next click the Transfer tab, the tracks will be there.)

Note: If you have Clicking the Play button: Adds song to Mixer selected in your General Preferences, when you click

in the Music Guide songs will be queued to the Mixer without beginning immediate playback. (Default is Clicking the Play button in the Music Guide: Plays song immediately.)

You can also press and hold [CTRL] on your keyboard and click

to add the tracks to the bottom of the Play queue without starting immediate playback.

Mixer Controls

The following buttons and tabs appear in the Mixer.

Action and Controls

Play

Displays the Play view of the Mixer, which you can use to queue up music to listen to, share, or to create a playlist.

Clear All	Clears the current queue.
Share	Allows you to share the contents of Play with your friends, or publish tracks to Playlist Central, an online Rhapsody community.
Save	Allows you to save tracks as playlists.

Burn CD

Displays the Burn CD view of the Mixer, where you can prepare to create your own CD.

Clear All	Clears the current queue.
Burn	Click Burn to start the CD burning process. When you burn tracks, the progress of your burn will appear in the Status bar at the bottom of the Mixer.
Save	Allows you to save tracks as playlists.
	Shows your burn CD options.

Transfer

Displays the Transfer view of the Mixer, where you can prepare to manually transfer music to a portable music player or device.

Clear All	Clears the current queue.
Transfer	Click Transfer to start the manual transfer process.
Save	Allows you to save tracks as playlists.
	Shows your transfer options.
