Rhapsody Icons

The following icons appear throughout Rhapsody:

Track Icons
(Appearing in the Mixer and My Library. See Track Types for more information.)

Description

Purchased: Indicates a track that has been purchased from Rhapsody.

Streamed subscription: A track that is streamed from Rhapsody's servers.

Downloaded subscription: A subscription track that has been downloaded to your computer.

Note: Subscription downloads are only available to users on Windows XP systems. Operating systems prior to XP cannot support subscription downloads at this time.

 

Local (no icon): A local track that has been imported from your hard drive or from a CD, not purchased from Rhapsody.

Playback Error (In Mixer): There was an error playing this track because of a content rights issue, an incompatible file type, or an internal server error.

Description

Music Guide: Opens the Rhapsody Music Guide, where you can play and download thousands of songs and albums.

Radio: Opens the Rhapsody Radio page.

My Library: Displays the contents of My Library.

Download Manager: Indicates that a download is in progress, or that you have purchased tracks or downloaded subscription tracks during the current Rhapsody session.

CD Drive: Shows that you have an audio CD in one of your CD drives. This icon is followed by a drive letter (for example, D:) and the name of the CD in the drive if available.

Portable Device: Shows that you have a portable music player or device connected to your computer. Usually followed by the name of the device.

My Playlists: Shows all playlists that you have created, as well as Instant Playlists.

Playlist that contains one or more local, non-Rhapsody downloads or tracks imported from a CD. These playlists cannot be shared.

Playlist that contains only Rhapsody subscription and purchased tracks. These playlists can be shared.

My New Tracks: A playlist that is generated by Rhapsody from the contents of My Library. (See Playlists for details.)

Music Guide Icons

Description

Play: In the Music Guide, adds the album or track it is associated with to Play, and starts immediate playback.

Note: Click and hold  [CONTROL] on your keyboard, then click next to any track or album in the Music Guide to add it to the end of the track list in Play without starting immediate playback.

On the Rhapsody Radio page, clicking plays a radio station.

Play 30-second excerpt: Appears next to tracks and albums in the Music Guide in place of the Play button if you are not signed in to your Rhapsody account, or if that track or album is only available for purchase, and cannot be streamed.

Buy: Click to purchase and download the track or album.

Appears in the Music Guide in place of the Add button if you are not signed in to your Rhapsody account, or if a track or album is not available as a subscription track and is only available for purchase.

indicates the track is only available for purchase as part of an album. To purchase the album you must navigate to the album's page and purchase the entire album.

Add:

Music Guide

Adds the track or album to My Library.

Radio

Adds the associated radio station to the My Stations list on the Rhapsody Radio page.

Playlist Central

Adds the associated playlist to My Playlists in the Source List.

If you have "Download songs to my hard drive whenever possible" selected in My Library Preferences, the track will be added as a subscription download (if available). If you have "Add songs as streams only" selected, the track will be added as a streamed subscription track.

Radio Remove: Removes the associated radio station from the My Stations list on the Rhapsody Radio page.

In Playlist Central indicates a playlist published by one of Rhapsody's Music Guide Editors. (This icon is not interactive.)

Back: Returns to the previous Music Guide screen.

Forward: Advances to the next Music Guide screen.

Home: Returns to the Music Guide home page.

Opens My Rhapsody.

Opens Playlist Central.
