To access Playlist Central, click at the top of the Music Guide.

Playlist Central is an online community; a place to find new music, share the music you love, and see what's hot and what's not. Listen to, rate, and share playlists published by Rhapsody, or created by other Rhapsody users.

You can publish your own playlists from the Mixer, a Playlist view of the Display Area, or publish music directly from My Library.

Rhapsody's Music Guide is the place to find your favorite popular music, and make new music discoveries. With Playlist Central, you can share your musical tastes and discoveries with the world.
 

 

Individual Playlist Views in Playlist Central

Click the name of any playlist in any Playlist Central view  to display the contents of that playlist.

A playlist page in Playlist Central displays each track in that playlist, along with any individual track comments.

Note: The crown icon ( ) indicates that a playlist was published by one of Rhapsody's Music Guide Editors.

Note: Some playlist categories with few entries may not show the More button, the Playlist Filter drop-down, or the Sort By options.

What Can You Do with a Playlist in Playlist Central?

Use the following controls and options to play, save, share, and rate an open playlist in Playlist Central, or view more playlists.

Action

Click Play to add the playlist to the Mixer and begin playback.

If you have Clicking the Play button: Adds song to Mixer selected in your General Preferences, the playlist will be queued without beginning immediate playback. (Default is Clicking the Play button: Plays song immediately.)
You can also press and hold [CTRL] on your keyboard and click to add the tracks to the bottom of the Play queue without starting immediate playback.

Click Add to add the playlist to My Playlists in the Source List.

Click Add  next to an individual track to add it to My Library.

Note: You must have the appropriate subscription to add playlists and tracks from Playlist Central.

Playlists from Playlist Central are added to My Playlists ( ) in the Source List. The playlist contents are not added to My Library or downloaded to your hard drive as subscription downloads at this point, even if you have Download songs to my hard drive... selected in your General Preferences.

To add the contents of the playlist to My Library, drag it to My Library ( ) in the Source List. if Download songs to my hard drive... is selected in your General Preferences, the tracks will automatically download (if they are available).

Rate It

When viewing a playlist, click any star to rate the playlist from 1-5 stars. Your rating will appear next to the playlist name whenever you open that playlist, and it will contribute to the playlist's overall ranking in Playlist Central.

You can change your rating, but you must first leave the open playlist view and then return to it.

Share

Click to e-mail the playlist, or create a RhapLink to the playlist to post on your web site,  blog, or an instant messaging program.

Click the playlist's author alias, genre type, or category to view all the playlists associated with that selection.

Playlist Publishing Tips

  • Choose your alias carefully. Once you have created one, you cannot change it. (One alias per Rhapsody account.)

  • You can publish tracks from any view of the Mixer (Play, Transfer, or Burn). From the Mixer, select tracks and click Share. From Burn or Transfer, select tracks and right-click.

  • You can share tracks from My Library. Select tracks in the Shareable Tracks view of My Library, and right-click them.

  • You can share tracks from the Library Organizer. Right-click on any artist name, album name, or genre type in the Organizer to share all the Rhapsody tracks in your Library for that category.

  • A list of your published playlists can be found in My Rhapsody.

  • Once you publish a playlist to Playlist Central, you cannot remove it.
