Starting Rhapsody and Signing In

Whenever you start Rhapsody, the "Sign In" dialog and the Quickguide (see The Rhapsody Quickguide, below) will open.

Sign in to your account from any authorized computer that has Rhapsody installed to have unlimited access to all of the tracks and videos that Rhapsody has to offer.

The Sign In Dialog

You can open the "Sign In" dialog at any time by clicking the Sign In button at the top of the Source List, or from the File menu.

If you have selected both the Save password and Auto sign-in at startup options, then you can only open the "Sign In" dialog by selecting File > Sign In from the Rhapsody Menus, or by clicking Sign Out and selecting a different sign-in name from the drop-down list in the Source List.

The following fields and options appear in the "Sign In" dialog:

Description

Username

Enter the username associated with the current account. The drop-down list will display other usernames used to sign in to Rhapsody on that computer.

To delete an old username, simply highlight the name and press [DELETE] on your keyboard.

Password

Enter the password for the current account (case sensitive).

Forgot your username or password?

Click to request your username and a new password.

Save password

Select to save the password for a specific username The saved information will be auto-inserted when you open the "Sign In" dialog and select that username. You still need to manually sign in.

Auto sign-in...

Select to automatically open the "Sign In" dialog when you start Rhapsody, and display the username that was most recently used. If the Save password option is also selected, the "Sign In" procedure will continue automatically.

Sign In

Click to sign in to your Rhapsody account.

Work Offline

Click to use Rhapsody without signing in to your account.

Register Now

Click to open a browser to the Rhapsody registration and subscription ordering web site.

When you are signed in, you will be able to select and listen to Rhapsody Radio stations, and the Music Guide will list your personal Rhapsody page (My Rhapsody). You will also have full access to Playlist Central, an online Rhapsody community.

Sign In and Your Portable Library

When you sign in, Rhapsody will synchronize My Library with your Rhapsody account and show all your subscription tracks ( ) and playlists, along with your local tracks.

If you sign in to your Rhapsody account from a different computer, subscription tracks that you have downloaded ( ) will appear in My Library as streams ( ). You can choose to re-download your subscription tracks at any time. You can even set your My Library Preferences to automatically download subscription tracks whenever you add a subscription track to My Library.

Optionally, you can download to your current computer copies of tracks you previously purchased from the Music Guide on other computers, at no extra charge. (With this feature, you can maintain copies of your downloaded music on all your authorized computers.)

Note: You must have the appropriate subscription to add and download Rhapsody tracks to My Library, and for them to be synchronized between computers. Rhapsody 25 accounts do not include server-side synchronization, as all of the tracks in My Library are located on your hard drive.  

Whether you have a paid subscription or not, non-Rhapsody files (such as tracks Imported from CDs, or imported local files) will appear in My Library when you sign in to your Rhapsody account on the computer where the files exist, but they are not synchronized by Rhapsody. They will not appear in My Library when you sign in from another computer.

The Rhapsody Quickguide

The Rhapsody Quickguide will open whenever you launch Rhapsody, unless you deselect (uncheck) Show this page at startup at the top-right of the guide.
