Playing Tracks With Rhapsody

Tracks are available to play from virtually every area of Rhapsody.

Music Guide

When you are signed in, click next to any track or album in the Music Guide to play it. Rhapsody's Music Guide has a very large and growing selection of musical tracks that can be listened to on-demand or purchased.

Note: You must have the appropriate subscription to play unlimited streaming music from the Music Guide. A Rhapsody 25 subscription will give you 25 free plays per month.

Rhapsody Radio

Click in the Source List to open the Radio Page. Click next to any Radio station to begin listening.  While most of Rhapsody's online music is available for on-demand listening, many more tracks are available on Rhapsody Radio stations.

Rhapsody offers a large variety of radio stations organized by genre, as well as artist stations that highlight specific artists. With the appropriate subscription, you can even create customized radio stations that conform to your specific tastes.

Playlist Central

Use Playlist Central, an online community, to listen to playlists published by other Rhapsody users, as well as Rhapsody editors. With the appropriate subscription, you can add playlists from Playlist Central to My Playlists.

Library

My Library contains all the tracks you have added to your collection. Double-click any track in My Library to play it.

Note: To play multiple, non-contiguous tracks from the Library, select the tracks you want and then drag and drop them into Play. (See Play, below.)

CDs

Play commercial or custom (burned) CDs with the Rhapsody player.

Play

The Play view of the Mixer shows the names of tracks you have recently played, and tracks that are queued up to be played.

Double-click any item in the list to start playing from that point.

Note: Select Repeat    in the Rhapsody Controls to play the track list in Play over and over again, until you choose to stop it. Select Shuffle to play the track list in random order. Repeat and Shuffle can be used together or separately.

File Menu

You can play tracks from your hard drive(s) by selecting File > Play Song from Disk in the Rhapsody Menus.

Playlists

Playlists are groups of tracks that you have saved to play in sequence. Think of a playlist as a virtual album.

From the Source List, click My Playlists ( ) to show all your playlists. Drag and drop a playlist to Play, or click the name of any playlist to show its contents in the Display Area.

From the  Display Area, click to begin playback from the start of the playlist. You can also choose to double-click any track in the Display Area to play just that track.
