Streamed Subscription Tracks

Streamed subscription tracks are added to My Library from the Music Guide, and they are streamed to your computer by Rhapsody's servers.

*Streamed subscription tracks cannot be transferred to a portable player or device unless they are downloaded, and they cannot be burned to a CD unless they are purchased. You will be prompted to purchase any tracks you do not yet own when you begin the CD burning process.

Downloaded Subscription Tracks

With the appropriate subscription, you can choose to download subscription tracks to your hard drive.

To set Rhapsody to automatically download subscription tracks you add to My Library, select Download songs to my hard drive whenever possible in My Library Preferences. You can also download streamed subscription tracks in My Library by right-clicking the track, and selecting Download Track(s) from the right-click menu.

When you download subscription tracks, you are granted the rights to use them with your Rhapsody player, and (with the appropriate subscription) to transfer to and play them on a compatible portable device.

The rights to these songs will expire in 30 days unless the rights are renewed. To do this, simply sign in to your subscription account at least once in any 30 day period.

*Not all portable players support the download of this type of content.

*Downloaded subscription tracks cannot be burned to a CD until you purchase them. You will be prompted to purchase any tracks you do not yet own when you begin the CD burning process.

*When you sign in to your Rhapsody account from a different computer, downloaded subscription tracks appear in My Library as streamed subscription tracks ( ). You can choose to download them to the new computer if you wish.

Note: Subscription downloads are only available to users on XP systems. Operating systems prior to XP cannot support subscription downloads at this time.

Not all subscription downloads can be transferred to a portable player or device. Some artists and labels have not granted subscription transfer rights to their tracks. If you attempt to transfer a subscription download that does not have transfer rights, the "Purchase" dialog will open.

Purchased Tracks

Purchased tracks are songs you have purchased and downloaded from Rhapsody's Music Guide, either directly or during the CD burning or transfer processes.

*When you sign in to your paid Rhapsody account from a different computer, purchased tracks appear in My Library as streamed subscription tracks ( ). You can choose to re-download them by selecting Menu > Manage My Account: Restore.

Note: Tracks you purchase from Real Player and import into My Library appear as Rhapsody purchased tracks, and they behave in the same way as tracks purchased from Rhapsody.

Imported

(No icon) These are local files that have been Imported from a CD or downloaded from the internet and saved to your hard drive (but not purchased from Rhapsody's Music Guide).

Note: Imported CD tracks are automatically added to My Library as local tracks. Non-Rhapsody downloads must be imported into My Library using the Rhapsody File Menu.
