The Rhapsody Online Player Controls

The Rhapsody Online Player appears when you click next to a track or album in the Music Guide, or next to a track or playlist A series of tracks played in sequence. Think of a playlist as a virtual album. Instant Playlists and playlists from Playlist Central are an excellent way to discover new music. in Playlist Central. (See Rhapsody Channels for channel details.) The music you have chosen will begin playing immediately.

The Player Controls allow you to control and customize music playback.

Note: if you click  next to a track or album in the Music Guide and you are not signed in, the Player will open and you will be prompted to sign in before playback begins.

How do the Rhapsody Player Controls work?

These following controls appear in the Rhapsody Online Player.

Play

Begins and resumes playback of the currently-queued track.

Pause

Pauses playback of the currently-queued track.

Forward

Skips forward to the next track listed in the Player.

Back

Skips back to the previous track listed in the Player.

volume icon

Volume

Click the bar to adjust volume. Volume level is indicated by the blue bar.

Mute

Temporarily sets the volume to zero (Mute: On ). The current track continues to play unless you pause it. Click again to return volume to its previous level (Mute: Off).

shuffle

Shuffle

Plays the tracks in the player queue in random order. You can use it together with Repeat.

repeat

Repeat

Plays the tracks in the player queue continuously. You can use it together with Shuffle.

My Playlists

My Playlists

Opens your playlist collection in My Rhapsody.

save as playlist

Save as Playlist

Click to add the entire queue to a playlist.

Delete

Delete

Beside a track, click to remove only that track from your queue. At the top of the queue, click to clear the contents of the Player.

Share

Click to share the contents of the Player.

Progress meter

Appears in the Artist and Album Info window when a track is playing. Indicates the time the track has played/indicates the total track length.

Help

Appears at the very top of the Player, next to the Rhapsody name. Click to view this Help file.

How do I search for music from the Player?

Type a keyword Any word or short phrase that is related to the media you want to find. For example, an artist's name, an album name, or part of a song title. into the Search field at the bottom of the Player ( ) to search for more music. The search results will be displayed in the Music Guide. (You can also search for music from the Music Guide itself.)

Where can I find artist and album info in the Player Controls?

Artist and album information (such as the album cover art) are displayed above the player controls while a track is playing. Click on the artist, track name, or album to open that page in the Music Guide and find more tracks, reviews, and pictures.

Use the Rating Selector to rate music and improve My Rhapsody.

If you are using your free Rhapsody membership, your "Free Plays Left" count will be displayed just above Album Info.

When signed in, your username is displayed to the upper left of the Player.
