The Music Guide

The Music Guide is the Rhapsody Online home page, and your portal to Rhapsody's music services. From the Music Guide, you can:

• Browse and search for and play on-demand music streams A large media file (audio or video) that is broken into smaller pieces and transferred from a server piece by piece, so it can be viewed immediately rather than waiting for the whole file to be downloaded..

• Access Rhapsody Channels for commercial-free streaming music programmed by our editors.

• Explore the Playlist Central online community.

• Get personalized music and artist suggestions in My Rhapsody.

• Subscribe to Rhapsody RSS feeds (Stands for Really Simple Syndication. An RSS feed is a stream of content from a frequently updated website).

How do I browse the Music Guide?

Use the Browse list (scroll down to find it) on the Music Guide Home page to find special features such as new releases and staff picks, as well as artists, tracks and albums in any particular genre Type or category. For example: rock, classical, country, hip-hop, or metal.. Click any feature or genre name to see the corresponding page.

The Music Guide Home page displays a variety of music selections to sample, including top tracks and artists, a list of music you've recently played, recommendations, and a featured playlist Click any artist name for a detailed artist information page. Click any album name to display that album in detail, along with a list of other available albums by that artist.

Click artist, album, and genre names anywhere in the Music Guide pages to browse more.

How do I navigate to other pages?

Use the tabs along the top of the Music Guide pages to navigate through Rhapsody Online.

Navigation Tab		What does it do?
Home		Opens the Music Guide home page.
Playlist Central		Opens Playlist Central, where you can find playlists published by Rhapsody users and editors.
Channels		Opens Rhapsody Channels, where you can listen to commercial-free streaming music programmed by our editors.
Music Videos		Opens the Rhapsody Online Music Videos page. Note: You can also find videos on individual artist pages in the Music Guide.
My Rhapsody		Opens My Rhapsody, your personalized Rhapsody page.
My Playlists		Opens My Playlists on My Rhapsody. Note: Only premium members can create and save playlists at this time.
My Library		Opens My Library, a place to collect your favorite tracks.

How do I search Rhapsody Online?

Use the Search function in the Music Guide to search through Rhapsody's more than two million on-demand Audio/Video media that's available on the internet for immediate playback, without waiting to download a file. (Same as streaming media.) tracks. Look for information about artists and composers, the music and albums they produced, and which tracks or albums are available for on-demand playback. (See Searching the Music Guide for more information.)

Note: You can also type a keyword Any word or short phrase that is related to the media you want to find. For example, an artist's name, an album name, or part of a song title. into the Search window at the bottom of the Player ( ) to start a search.

How do I play, save, or share tracks from the Music Guide?

It's easy to play, save or share tracks with Rhapsody Online:

• Click next to any track or album to open the Player (if it isn't currently open) and start playback. Use the Player Controls to pause or resume playback. (See Playing Tracks for details.)

• Click next to any track or album to add it to your player queue, My Library, or a playlist.

• Click Share next to any track or album to share it with your friends. Send a link via email or an instant messaging program (IM), or add a RhapLink A web link to Rhapsody music, generated through the Share process. to your web site.

What else will I find on the Music Guide Home page?

• The scrolling slideshow at the top of the page shows you what's new and hot on Rhapsody Online.

• In the Spotlight gives you a featured playlist, and featured albums, videos, and Channels.

• Charts show the most popular Rhapsody Online artists, albums, and tracks.

• What You're Playing shows the tracks and playlists you have most recently played, along with the tracks you have played most often, and what you've recently viewed in the Music Guide.

• Recommendations give you album suggestions based on your recent listening history.

• Rhapsody Online Feeds takes you the Rhapsody Online Feeds page, where you can sign up for RSS feeds (Stands for Really Simple Syndication. An RSS feed is a stream of content from a frequently updated website.) related to Rhapsody Online music, such as Top Artists, Top Albums, and Top Tracks.
