Custom Categories

Select View > My Library ( ) from the Player menus.
Select the clip or clips you wish to add to a Category.
Click Edit Clip Info in the sidebar, under Tasks, to open the Edit Clip Info dialog.
If necessary, select General from the Clip Info View menu to display the Category data field.
Select a category from the Category drop-down list, or enter a category in the data field.
Click OK to save your changes and close the Edit Clip Info dialog.

Select View > My Library ( ) from the Player menus.
If necessary, Click to return to the top level of My Library.
Select any custom category (such as Movies) in My Library and right-click to open the context menu.
Click Add/Remove Categories... to open the Manage Content Categories dialog.
To create a new category, click New.
To remove a category, select an existing category and click Delete.

Clips assigned to a deleted custom category are not deleted. They will remain in the All Media category.

Menu of alternate commands; available when you click the alternate mouse button while using an application. In the majority of cases this is the right button, but may be swapped through your computer controls. The menus are usually context specific (dependent on cursor location).

Custom Categories

There are two types of categories in RealPlayer: those you cannot customize, and those you can. Categories of the first type are part of your Player and cannot be renamed or edited. These categories include groups such as All Media, Music, Videos, New Clips, and Playlists. When you view these categories, RealPlayer automatically finds any clips in My Library that match the category's description without your having to specifically add any clip to the category.

The second type of category is customizable. You can create, rename, or delete these categories in My Library to help you organize your clips. To add clips to a new or existing custom category, use Edit Clip Info (available in the Edit menu, or in the Tasks area of the My Library sidebar). You can also drag and drop clips into any category listed in the Organizer.

Custom categories can also be defined in the Clip Info that comes with a clip that you download. When you import a file with a category already assigned to it, the category will be added to My Library (if it isn't already there).

To create, remove, or edit custom categories at any time, use the following procedures.

Note: Clips that are added to a custom category are automatically sorted by artist and genre.
