Media Clips

RealPlayer can play a variety of media types, both those that are on the Internet and those stored as local files on your computer or a CD/DVD. To make it easier to organize all your media, regardless of its format and location, RealPlayer remembers all the file location details and lists them simply as media clips.

Functionally, a media clip is similar to a shortcut or bookmark. It contains information about the media you have access to, such as title, artist, format, size and location. When you store or move media clips in My Library, you aren't moving the file associated with the clip; all you move is the clip information. Likewise, when you delete a clip, or a clip list, or a playlist, all you are deleting is the clips, not the media files that the clips bookmark.

Note: A media clip is not the same thing as a CD track.  A CD track is the audio media on a CD.
